Each one of us makes a choice when we encounter someone weaker or more vulnerable than ourself. Do we nurture, care and protect, or do we indulge our sense of power and allow it to corrupt us so that we control and abuse? The extremes sicken us, as they should.
I hope we find the greyer areas in our personal relationships just as unacceptable. Kindness (treating others as if they were our kin) is one of the strongest forces for good that we have.
